The first time we went to Sea Smoke we tried their happy hour menu and were not very impressed, but happy hour is not where I believe a restaurant really showcases how great it can be. We decided to come back for dinner and had an amazing meal. Dinner is where this restaurant really shines. We were very comfortable there, it was not overly loud, the decor was pleasantly colored, it was a classy and somewhat unpretentious environment. For our appetizers we ordered a variety of oysters and they were delicious and fresh. We ordered three different varieties and each had their own tasty nuances. They were accompanied by hot sauce, Lemon wedge, vinegary mignonette and cocktail sauce. We then ordered the octopus appetizer. It came with a delicious slab of fried pork belly, which was really delicious as a small addition to the plate. The octopus was tender and fresh and if you could keep some of it out of the plum sauce it was sitting in, you could really taste the octopus flavor. The plum sauce was just a little overpowering. Next we got a half order each of the fried calamari and the fried oysters. The flavor of the fried oysters really came through. Even though they were fried they still had a delicious meaty flavor and were very moist. Unctuous and almost fatty, the calamari were sublime. I almost wanted to roll my eyes to the back of my head. One of the best fried calamari dishes I've had. For our entrées we ordered the papparadelle bolognese and the Monday night prime rib special, and split both of these so we could each have some of everything. The pasta was beef, pork, veal, tomatoes, garlic, basil and ricotta. It was served al dente and had a homemade flavor. The sauce was delicious and meaty and not overly sweet. It's the kind of pasta you'd want leftovers of, which there was plenty of because of the huge portion we were served. The Monday night prime rib was two dollars per ounce so we ordered a 16 ounce cut. It did not disappoint. It had an amazing savory crust and was cooked medium rare. Very flavorful. We would definitely come back for dinner here, everything that we tried was prepared and skillfully cooked with care. They have an obviously talented cooking staff.

Food was outstanding, service outstanding, interior very interesting, only thing that could have improved the day was to be outside on the waterfront patio . The apps oyster, calamari, bread , were so well made and portions were a good price to portion ratio. There were to many of us to mention the difference plates ordered , but I can safely say NO ONE WAS DISAPPOINTED. Even if you can not sit outside to enjoy the water, go and enjoy the SEA SMOKE!

Amazing cocktails and food! The service is always very attentive. They usually have a few really good specialists as well. Go to drink is the black pearl. Favorite apps include the octopus and fried artichokes. Any of the fish entrees (sea bass, cod, etc.), so good!

Fantastic! We live nearby and have meant to try this for ages, so glad we did. Started with the Ricotta Bread - not pictured as it was gone in a flash. All three entrees (ahi tuna, lobster risotto, Chilean sea bass) were delicious and enjoyed. Empty plate club. Service was very attentive with frequent water refills and a change of cutlery between appetizer and entrees - greatly appreciated. Thomas the waiter was a star - great service without being obtrusive. We look forward to returning!

Had a good meal here on a Friday night. It was busy which was good to see even for a gloomy, rainy night. The patio was still "open" as they had all the plastic coverings down. There was still a little breeze that came in off the water, but it was not unbearable to sit outside. For my meal I opted for the Shrimp Cocktail and Chilean Sea Bass which were both marked as GF on their menu but were not - they had to change out the pasta for mashed potatoes with the sea bass and the cocktail sauce included worcestershire sauce. The swap to potatoes was good as the potatoes had more flavor than the fish. The shrimp were very large and fresh, but it was sad I could not use the cocktail sauce and could only use the lemon and hot sauce. Net it was slightly disappointing to see the menu was mis-labeled. For drinks I had the No Wake which was very fresh, but just a little too sweet. My partner had The Sea Smoke which had great presentation and good flavor as well. Another party member had the special tequila cocktail of the night which was spicy but very tasty. Overall all 4 of us enjoyed the space and service - our waiter was very personable and funny, but the food was as little bland and most flavor in our meals came from the sides not the main meat.

Made a reservation for a Birthday dinner using OpenTable. When we arrived, we waited for the hostess for a few minutes, seemed we were getting there as they were opening for the evening. Our reservation was on a Monday at 6pm. Seated by the window/garage door which had a great view. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and yet not overwhelming with the theme. Our waiter came by immediately asking if we wanted water. And explained the drink specials. There is a special that 1/2 the proceeds goes to the Humane Society. We ordered Ricotta bread for an appetizer. It came out hot and delicious. Amanda ordered the Tuna and I ordered the chicken. Both were very good. We walked the deck as it was a beautiful evening. Our waiter wished Amanda a Happy Birthday. It is a little on the high end so expect to pay a few more dollars for dinner and drinks. We would come back just as more of a special day.

My husband and I came for our date night. Overall, amazing experience! The chef had about 90% of the dishes mastered and we really enjoyed ourselves. The one where I feel there could have been improvement was on a dish that came with polenta. The description of the polenta did not say creamy polenta and it came out almost like grits. I prefer a bit more firm polenta and was wondering if they accidentally made grits or creamy risotto instead of polenta. It was okay .. the rest of our dishes were fantastic! So no worries. The ambience and service is great and we will be back at some point. Price range - be ready to drop about $150-175 for two person experience.

Sea Smoke never disappoints. It's the perfect date night. Sitting outside at night is a beautiful view. We sat inside at the bar on this adventure and still had a great view to look at. The bartenders were incredibly attentive. I had mentioned a drink that I loved when I lived in Hawaii. The bartender did his best to recreate it for me and it was amazing. Lavender lemonade. They also had a drink where $5 of it went to Breast Cancer research for the month of October. Our oysters were delicious and the bartender took the time time hear what we liked and recommended three that were perfect for us. We love this restaurant. The service is always impeccable and the food is always delicious.

Last night, my husband and I found ourselves in the Green Island (NY) area for a travel industry picnic. As dusk approached, the bugs became annoying so we bailed Peebles Park and decided to give Smoke Waterfront Grill, which was nearby, a try. What a lovely location, overlooking the Hudson River, with ample seating both inside and out. Easy parking, too, in the parking lot right in front of the restaurant. Loved the vibe, high end, a bit industrial but softened by greenery, airy, and very cool. We both ordered one of the specialty drinks, a focus on Blackberry and Tito's ($15). Great idea, just needed more seltzer to cut the sweetness of the blackberry liquor. Once we diluted the drink a bit, it was very refreshing and enjoyable. For me, the appetizer selection was dynamite. I will often order an appetizer as a starter and another one for my entrée. The Crispy Oysters (which I requested accompanied by roasted garlic aloi instead of sriracha remoulade, no problem), as shown in the photo, were a sizable portion. They were crisp on the outside and juicy inside. Excellent. I ordered the Spanish Octopus as my main course, an appropriate size for an appetizer and nicely tender. Yum. My husband selected the Strawberry Spinach Salad to begin his repast. It was good, nothing special but a refreshing choice on a warm and humid evening. The Jumbo Fried Shrimp were just that - jumbo! A healthy number of the perfectly prepared crustaceans; my companion had to bring some of them home (which is highly unusual for this ample eater). Thomas, our server, was very attentive - almost to a fault. All of this would have encouraged us to return, even meet friends and colleagues in the area. But the menu prices are over the top. Their oyster prices were much higher than other nice places. Lobster Roll $40? I think not. Diver Scallops $55? Uh, no. Our bill came to over $150 for two drinks, three appetizers, and one (inexpensive) entrée. Fine dining, btw, should include appropriate table linen (which they do not have). Just sayin'. Sadly, because of their price point for items we can get elsewhere for much less, we probably won't return.

First of all, kudos to the hostess for reading the comments under "special occasion" and "special requests" on the Open Table reservation service they subscribe to. The couple seated just before us likely mentioned that it was their anniversary. As the hostess prepared to seat them she wished them a Happy Anniversary. When she returned and read our reservation, she said "let me check on your table." We had requested an outdoor table. She went to their deck and personally cleared a table for four, the only remaining vacant table on the deck, for our party of two, and returned to seat us. Nice! Service almost seemed over abundant initially. Two different workers promptly inquired if we desired water. The second was our assigned server, the first was likely a busser or a runner. With drink menus in hand my wife chose one of their Mocktails - Sweetwater Basil Bliss ($10) - watermelon juice, pineapple, basil, aloe, & ginger simple syrup. She was pleased that it was not overly sweet but commented that the basil leaf garnish appeared wilted and mangled. My choice was the Meiers Creek, Floatin On By, draft pilsner ($10) - it was clean and crisp. Moving right into appetizers, my wife selected the Tuna Tartare ($21), from their raw bar, with edamame puree, wakame, ponzu, and crispy shallot. My choice was the Spanish Octopus ($23) with fingerling potato, puttanesca jam, pistachio, and salsa verde. Both preparations were delicious, but I enjoyed all the flavors in my perfectly cooked octopus more than those in my taste of her tuna tartare. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Chilean Sea Bass ($47) from their regular menu while I decided to have the Diver Scallops ($55) on the Daily Features menu. The sea bass was light, moist, and perfectly cooked. Served on a bed of creamy fregola, the fish's flavor was further complemented by sherry glazed shallots and cherry tomatoes, with a frisée salad on top. My five large scallops were tender, flavorful, and served with a golden brown sear. The accompanying crispy capers added a contrasting texture while the grilled broccolini and spicy romesco sauce raised the scallops to yet another level of deliciousness. It being a celebratory occasion with beautiful al fresco weather and a view of the Hudson river, we were not about to pass up on dessert. To go with her Cappuccino ($6) my wife ordered the Housemade Cheesecake ($15) with a graham cracker crust and covered with a berry compote. The cheesecake was rich, light, flavorful, and very creamy. The berry compote was not overly sweet and with a bit of whipped cream and caramel drizzle on the plate there was no doubt the plate would be almost licked clean. I chose a dessert whose name and description had me baffled - Candy Bar ($15). I was trying to imagine how "chocolate brownie, caramel, wafer, vanilla sponge cake, toffee, feuilletine, chocolate shell, and smoked sea salt" could be presented. You'll have to look at my photos to fully understand and appreciate the creativeness and time consuming work that must have taken place to make this dessert. Impressive plating was only surpassed by what this "candy bar" looked like once you begin to eat it, and the variety of wonderful flavors you experienced. This being a popular place, the noise level can be a bit high, especially if you are seated near the bar, even on the deck. Service overall was excellent. All the front of the house staff were friendly and attentive to their responsibilities. Our total evening's experience is what has earned them their final star.
